22 days until harry potter comes out!! i am soooo excited! and you know i'm excited when i use exclamation marks because i use them rarely. plus we're totally done with walden until exams! and today's friday! and the holidays are coming up sort of! one bad thing: in comm apps we're doing debate..i don't know anyone in that class so i got stuck with the other kid with no partner, which sucks..and debate doesn't end until basically the end of the semester. blahh. but back to hp..check out the trailers here. i'm such a nerd..eh(: does anyone else think that pep rallies are a waste of time? ramblers and drumline..that's all that's worth watching unless i'm forgetting something..

Gandhi was a way cool guy. Some of the things he said that we can learn from:

  • An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.
  • The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
  • To believe in something, and not live it, is dishonest.
  • What difference does it make to the dead whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?
  • I am prepared to die, but there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill.
  • We must respect other religions, even as we respect our own. Mere tolerance thereof is not enough.
  • It is impossible for me to reconcile myself to the idea of conversion after the style that goes on in India and elsewhere today. It is an error which is perhaps the greatest impediment to the world’s progress toward peace … Why should a Christian want to convert a Hindu to Christianity? Why should he not be satisfied if the Hindu is a good or godly man?

I hatehatehatehatehatehate school, but life's only depressing when we let it affect us. So I guess life's not so bad. Ignorant people are frustrating to the extreme, though. AND I NEED MORE SLEEP! (:

What to say about Hurricane Katrina...I tried to imagine my whole city being destroyed by a hurricane, but I honestly can't begin to even do the tragedy justice. It's absolutely horrible. What a great historical city--ruined. And, of course, the people. It's just not fair that stuff like this happens...but now back to tarea. How depressing. On a lighter note, I got Jason Mraz's new CD. I know that that's uncool, but I don't care, his music makes me happy.
